Reforming a Broken Criminal-Justice System

U.S. Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Mike Lee (R-UT) discuss bipartisan efforts to reform the criminal-justice system. In an age of perpetual gridlock in Washington, Booker says that lawmakers must stop seeing democracy as “a spectator sport,” and start reaching across the aisle on issues of mutual interest.

This discussion took place at the 2015 Washington Ideas Forum.
