Larry Johnson is a feline portraitist. He’s famous in particular circles, traveling to various exhibitions and taking pictures of cat ladies’ precious pets. His wife, Susan, is a show manager for a cat show in Parsippany, New Jersey. Johnson specializes in photographing nervous cats, bringing out their various dispositions and getting them to really open up in front of the camera. “I like their personalities, how to show that in my pictures,” he says in this documentary by Mark Zemel. The film is an inside look at the people who show cats, who love them, and are obsessed with getting their portraits taken.
