The Tragedy and Triumph of a Professional Skydiver

In 1992, the professional skydiver Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld boarded a plane for a routine training jump. Six weeks later, he awoke from a coma to discover that a terrible accident had crippled his body and shattered his dream of becoming a world champion. Despite being told never to return to the sport, Brodsky-Chenfeld insisted on reaching his lifelong goal: “I made a decision not to surrender to the constraints of my reality.” This short documentary, Above All Else, tells the story of how two years after the accident, Brodsky-Chenfeld’s team won the gold medal in the Four-Way at the World Skydiving Championships.

This film is based on Brodsky-Chenfeld’s book, Above All Else, and was produced by the media organization Live Unbound and directed by its founder, Yali Sharon. You can reach Live Unbound at their Facebook page.
